PELHAM, AL - From April 27th to the 29th Caden Mullinax and the Mullinax Racing team will go off for an ambitious weekend on the road as they travel from Tennessee to Kentucky and back in rounds five through seven of the Spring National Series.
Two weeks ago the Sheaffer's Oil Spring National Series rounds at Wythe Raceway and Tazewell Speedway got rained out. This resulted in the Wythe race being canceled and Tazewell's Lil Corum Memorial being moved to the end of the season. Now the next rounds of the Spring Nationals will take place over this upcoming weekend.
Caden and the Mullinax Racing team will set off to take on a unique challenge with three races in just as many days. Thursday will have Caden running at Crossville Speedway, Friday will be at Lake Cumberland Speedway, and Saturday rounds out the weekend at Clarksville Speedway.
This will not only be a difficult trip for the boys but adding to the challenge is the fact that Mullinax Racing has never raced on any of the weekend's tracks. Despite this, the team is confident that they can continue the charge for a Rookie of the Year award by getting valuable points.
Crossville Speedway hosts round six of the Spring National Series and will pay out $7,553 to the winner of its 40 lap feature. The track is located in central Tennessee and is a 1/3rd-mile high banked oval.
On Friday the team will make their first venture to Kentucky at Lake Cumberland for the $7,553 to win 40 lap feature. Lake Cumberland is a 3/8th-mile clay oval located just west of Lake Cumberland from which it gets its name.
Saturday features Crossville Speedway's $10,053 to win 53 lap feature where Caden will have to battle many of the South's best for the big prize. Crossville Speedway is a 1/3rd-mile oval with long straights and tight corners that will feature tight quarters racing.
Both Caden and the team are looking forward to the challenge they have set for themselves. Caden currently sits fifth in the Spring National Series points and looks to creep his way forward and close in on Points leader Carson Ferguson.
