For the second time in three years Maddux will make a run at the Ice Bowl in the Super Late Model Division.
In January of 2021 Maddux Mullinax made his first ever attempt at Talladega Short Track's most famous race but missed the feature due to fuel pressure issues. This week he looks to make his second run at the title in his black Longhorn Super Late Model.
After a strong end to the 2022 season Maddux and the team decided to trade out the 604 Crate motor for a Super Late Model motor and run in the top division. The team worked day in and day out building the motor from ground up for this race. With this car the team looks to take on a tricky weekend at the Hornet's Nest and run against the best.
Maddux has not run in a Super Late Model since the end of 2021 in the Black Diamond now driven by Caden, but this challenge is one that he looks forward to. He has plenty of experience behind the wheel of a big motor, having ran three full seasons in Supers.
The Ice Bowl will start on Thursday, January 5th and run through Saturday with the features being on the final day. It has a payout of $7,500 for the feature winner, making it one of the highest paying races at the local dirt track.
