Caden Battles at Smoky Mountain, Maddux Goes to Whynot.

PELHAM, AL - On Friday, July 16th, Caden Mullinax got his first taste of the Lucas Oil series at Smoky Mountain Speedway.

After rain canceled the initial plans for the Mullinax Racing team, they set their sights on the $50,000 to win Mountain Moonshine Classic at the newly shortened Smoky Mountain Speedway. Caden made his Lucas Oil debut on Friday with split $5,000 to win features where he would be put in the harder of the two groups.

In his feature, Caden fought hard and looked like he belonged where he finished sixteenth, just outside of a transfer spot in the following day's heat races. During this race Caden mixed it up with some of the best in the world.

On Saturday Caden learned that he would be in heat race number two along with Jimmy Owens, Dale McDowell, Cory Hedgcock, and Garrett Smith, all of which has been ranked among the Top 25 in the world per DirtOnDirt. Caden finished 6th in his heat and had to run the B-Main where he would start tenth.

The B-Main would prove to be difficult as Caden would fail to advance to the main event, finishing twelfth. Though they missed the final cut, the team held their head high as they passed through a gauntlet of challengers and ran every race but the last.

In looking forward to the next weekend, Maddux Mullinax decided that it was his turn behind the wheel. On Friday, June 23rd, Maddux will take his 604 Crate Late Model to Whynot Speedway in Mississippi to race for two days alongside the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series.

The last time that Maddux had raced in the "House of Hook" was in October of 2022 when Maddux made a field of fifty-one cars and finished eleventh. The 1/3rd mile track is one that Maddux loves to drive and the fact that the weekend offers two full shows over two days makes it even all the better for the team.

You will be able to follow along and get updates on the weekend by going to the Mullinax Racing Facebook page or get exclusive content from the pits on Instagram @MullinaxRacing. The race will also be on FloRacing.
